Gold occurs as sparkling..brilliantly lustered leaves, blebs, blades in crystallized Quartz vein material that shows a weak, but distinct, purplish Amethest color. A specific gravity determination indicates 21.3 grains of contained Gold. Found using a Goldbug2 metal detector in the Krum Hills. Treated with Mineral Oil to show contrast with Gold and matrix. If it interferes with your asthetics simply remove by a soak in rubbing alchohol.

The Gold occurs as a nest of distinct, thick, ropey, entangled wires enclosing several euhedral Quartz crystals. Gold shows brilliant luster and a brassy-yellow color.
