Gold specimen (var. Electrum) from the Portland Mine in the Seven Troughs mining district. Gold occurs as blades, rods, grains and leaves in a dense Quartz matrix. Gold shows a subdued luster and a bronzy color.  A specific gravity determination indicates 2.5 Grams of Au. Specimen has been treated with mineral oil to enhance the contrast with Gold and Quartz.  Weighs 13.5 Grams
