Overall weak Hematite staining. Abundant, tiny Quartz crystals. Treated with a light coating of mineral oil to enhance contrast, may be removed by soaking in hot water for seconds. Found using Goldbug2 metal detector.

Crystalline, leaf Gold in Quartz matrix. Gold occurs as a dense accumulation of leaves, flakes, and ribbons. Gold is bright and exhibits an orangish-yellow color. There is a slight suggestion of dendritic crystalline growth. The blue-gray mineral is probably a Silver sulfide such as Acinthite. Specimen has been etched to better display the complex Gold structure. Technically this is a naturally occurring alloy of 60% Gold and 40% Silver called Electrum.

Beautiful specimen of a mass of compressed Gold leaves. Brilliant, vibrant luster and a brassy-yellow color. This is an early production Round Mountain specimen, rarely seen today. Gold occurs as a .5 cm. thick band on a FeOx stained siliceous matrix.
