A nice small specimen from the Seven Troughs Mining District. Gold occurs as  tiny, deep orangish-tinted blades, leaves, ribbons, and grains. It occurs within a .5 cm. veinlette.  Matrix is a fine-grained quartz. A Specific Gravity test determined approximately 1.2 Grams contained Gold.

A beautiful and unusual specimen of Crystallized Gold. Gold occurs as a myriad of tiny, dense, individual Gold crystals..packed together with occasional dodecahedral crystal terminations. Shows some secondary wear, and rounding. Gold shows very bright luster and an orangish-yellow color. Approximately 10% shale matrix remains, as well as a trace of Quartz. Interesting piece. Found in an old, historic, Nevada Gold camp.
