INCA GOLD!!!!

Interesting small crystalline Gold specimen from Peru. Champagne colored Gold occurs in a porous white Quartz matrix. Vugs are lined with tiny Quartz crystals and crystalline Gold. Few % disseminated crystalline, and larger Pyrite crystals on one end. Uncommon to find Peru Gold specimens.

California Gold! 

 A splendid Crystallized Leaf Gold specimen shot through white Quartz. Thick leaves of Gold exhibit brilliant luster, and buttery-yellow color.   Few % Telluride mineral (Petzite?) Not etched. Nice piece from the famous Harvard Mine.   Specific gravity determination indicates 8.1 Grams of contained Gold.  Flashy piece!

A Splendid, crystallized Gold specimen from the famous Eagles Nest mine, Michigan Bluff Mining District, in Placer Co. California. The specimen exhibits brilliant luster, and rich, buttery-yellow color.  The Gold forms brilliant, mirror-like, flattened octahedrons, a few Gold  dendrites, and numerous raised octahedral crystals. Few % Quartz on specimen, and is perched on a white Quartz base.

UNIQUE!!

Crystallized dendritic Gold specimen from the April Fools Hill area, Manhattan Nevada. This specimen is cut with a diamond saw across a piece of a Gold rich Quartz vein.  Shows minor FeOx staining. Gold is brilliantly lustered, with a pale-yellow color. Found with a Goldbug2 metal detector in this old, historic Nevada mining camp.

An exceptional specimen of crystalline Gold in a white Quartz matrix. Found in an old historic Gold mine dump using a metal detector.  The Georgetown CA area is the northernmost end of the Mother Lode. Gold exhibits brilliant luster and a brassy color. Trace FeOxs. Has been etched.  A Specific Gravity determination indicates 5.2 Grams contained Gold.

Manhattan Nevada Crystalline Gold in crystallized Quartz matrix.  Brightly lustered, with a pale lemony yellow color. Gold occurs as ribbons, grains, and strong dendritic clusters within a FeOx stained Quartz matrix showing many tiny euhedral Quartz crystals. Specimen has not been etched. 

MOTHER LODE-CALIFORNIA  GOLD!!!     An exquisite, crystalline Gold specimen from the famous Harvard Mine in the Jamestown mining district. A beautiful specimen of Californian Gold. Deep, buttery-yellow colored, brilliant lustered,  Trace white Quartz matrix remains also a trace dark mineral, possibly Petzite. Found at an old 1849 vintage Californian Gold mine.  Extremely nice specimen.  These specimens are very difficult to obtain as the mine has been closed, and flooded for over 75 years.

Manhattan Nevada Crystallized Gold.  Brightly lustered, with a bronze color. Gold occurs as a compact mass of leaves, ribbons, and moderate herringbone/dendritic crystal growth.  Gray, Chalcedonic Quartz forms the matrix.  A specific gravity determination indicates 9.2 Grams contained Gold. Found in an old historic mining camp using a MineLab 5000 metal detector.

Crystalline Gold in a Quartz matrix. Gold occurs as tiny leaves, grains, and ribbons. Beautiful copper-bronze color. Technically this is a naturally occurring alloy of 60% Gold and 40% Silver called Electrum, which usually is a silvery-gray color. Treated with Mineral Oil to show contrast with Gold and matrix. Found in an old Nevada Mining camp. Specific Gravity determination indicates 3.6 Grams Gold.

Tiny...but Intricate and exquisite crystallized Gold specimen. Complex cubic crystal habit, shows rows upon rows of cubic crystals, also staircase-like cubic crystal development.   The reverse side exhibits curious herringbone crystal growth. Brilliant, luster, nice rich brassy color. One of the most wondrous pieces I have found. Found within an obscure, old, historic, Nevada Gold camp.

A nice small specimen from the Seven Troughs Mining District. Gold occurs as  tiny, deep orangish-tinted blades, leaves, ribbons, and grains. It occurs within a .5 cm. veinlette.  Matrix is a fine-grained quartz. A Specific Gravity test determined approximately 1.2 Grams contained Gold.

A beautiful and unusual specimen of Crystallized Gold. Gold occurs as a myriad of tiny, dense, individual Gold crystals..packed together with occasional dodecahedral crystal terminations. Shows some secondary wear, and rounding. Gold shows very bright luster and an orangish-yellow color. Approximately 10% shale matrix remains, as well as a trace of Quartz. Interesting piece. Found in an old, historic, Nevada Gold camp.

FIRE CREEK!!

A curious crystallized Gold specimen from the now closed Fire Creek mine, Lander Co. NV.  Small .5 mm slab showing fantastic dendritic Gold crystal growth.  This piece illustrates the relationship of the Quartz vein matrix in contact with Basalt on one side and Calcite on the other side.  This mine is one of the few recent Gold mines in Nevada that mined visible Gold (VG).  Most Nevada Gold mines are mining micron Gold, only recovered using Cyanide leaching technology. A Specific Gravity determination yielded 3.4 Grams Gold

Lovely specimen of Gold from the Round Mountain mine. This small specimen exhibits brilliant luster and a pale champagne  gold color due to the natural alloy of 70% Au, and 30% Ag. The specimen is composed of moderately  developed Gold crystals. Modified octahedrons, cubes, and cubooctahedral crystals are moderately exhibited. Very flashy.

Round Mountain Leaf Gold.  Beautiful specimen of a mass of compressed Gold leaves, and weakly formed cuboctahedral crystals. Brilliant, vibrant luster and a buttery-yellow color.  Minor trigon development on a few leaves. Shows a few % of white Quartz and Albite feldspar.   Weighs .56 ounce.

CURIOUS!!!

Small crystalline Gold specimen from the Lincoln Hill mine. Gold is quite unique because it shows bright purple toning. This color shows on Silver coins  often and is highly desired. I do not know why it shows on this specimen, perhaps its due to heat from blasting .  Trace of Sphalerite and Pyrite.

DOGTOWN !!!  An interesting, crystalline Gold specimen from an obscure, mine in the Coulterville, CA area.  A unique specimen of Californian Gold.  Gold occurs within a 1 cm. Quartz vein in a Schistose rock.  Orangish-yellow colored, brightly lustered Gold with minor Hematite staining.  Gold shows fine, crystalline texture, intimately shot through the fractured Quartz.  A specific gravity determination shows 40 grains Gold.

Small crystalline Gold in Quartz matrix.  Brightly lustered, with a pale lemony yellow color. Gold occurs as ribbons, leaves, and grains with few % FeOxs. From an old collection found near the old Summa/Tenneco open pit Gold mine on Big 4 Hill.

Wonderful Crystalline Gold from the famous Carson Hill Mines, Calaveras County, California.  Lode Gold was discovered in 1850 where extremely rich Gold ore was blasted from near surface Quartz veins ..principally from the Morgan mine. The early miners then simply picked up the rich Gold fragments.  Open pit mining from the 1980s to 1991 attempted to mine the deposit by consolidating the various deposits.  Later attempts were made, to  crush the waste dumps and market the material to the California Department of Highways (CALTRAN)  nugget traps were installed on the gravel sorting circuits and these specimens were  recovered as a result.

Gold shows bright, reflective luster, and an orangish-yellow color. Crystalline texture. There is approximately 10% Quartz matrix. Also trace of Telluride minerals.

Arizona Gold!!!  A beautiful 1/3 ounce specimen of crystalline Gold from the South Hualapai Mountains. Gold exhibits brilliant luster, and a rich buttery-yellow color. Approximately 10% original Quartz matrix remains. Weighs .34 ounces.

CALICO GOLD!!  Beautiful crystalline Gold in a Quartz-Limonite bearing vein from Arizona.  This specimen comes from an unknown Mining District, and is a new discovery. The piece has been cut with a diamond saw, producing a slab that has been polished on one side.  The Gold exhibits brilliant luster, and a rich, deep buttery-yellow color.  The Gold occurs as irregular,  jagged patches interspersed within the calico colored vein material. Total weight is 42.5  Grams. A specific gravity determination indicates 12.08 Grams Gold.

CALICO GOLD!!  Beautiful crystalline Gold in a Quartz-Limonite bearing vein from Arizona.  This specimen comes from an unknown Mining District, and is a new discovery. The piece has been cut with a diamond saw, producing a slab that has been polished on one side.  The Gold exhibits brilliant luster, and a rich, deep buttery-yellow color.  The Gold occurs as irregular,  jagged patches interspersed within the calico colored vein material. Total weight is 37.6 Grams. A specific gravity determination indicates 3.74 Grams Gold.

Gold occurs as leaves, flakes, and ribbons. Gold is very brite and reflective and exhibits a nice silvery-yellow color as well as some showing a bronze color. There is a slight suggestion of dendritic crystalline growth.

A splendid specimen from the famous Eagles Nest mine, Michigan Bluff Mining District, in Placer Co. California. The small piece shows brilliant luster, buttery-yellow hue, crystalline, metallic native gold shot through translucent snow-white, milky quartz.

CALIFORNIA MOTHER LODE GOLD!!!  An intersting, small, crystalline Gold specimen from an obscure, mining claim in the Mariposa Mining District.  A unique specimen of Californian Gold.  Lemoney-yellow colored, brightly lustered Gold hosted by vuggy white Quartz.  A nice sound specimen. These specimens are very difficult to obtain as these old mines and prospects have been closed before the 1940s.
