MEXICAN GOLD!!!

A small-medium sized, alluvial nugget.  Exhibits beautiful, rich, buttery-yellow color, and soft luster. Gold occurs in a chunk of water worn white Quartz that was probably a small vein fragment.  Found in Caborca, Mexico using a MineLab 5000 metal detector. Weighs .22 ounce.

A nice, small chunky nugget from the Humboldt Range placer fields. Nugget is solid and   has a few % Quartz matrix remaining. Shows soft, velvety luster, and an orangish tint to the color. Weighs .08 ounce.

An exotic Gold nugget from the Devils Nest Placer, Rich Hill mining district, Stanton, Arizona.  Shows soft, velvety luster, and a rich, orangish color. Several Quartz pebbles remain.  Unique character, and a well water worn piece. Found using a metal detector in this old, historic, Arizona Gold camp.  Weighs .93 oz.

OREGON GOLD!!

A pretty Gold nugget from the Blue Mtn. mining area of Oregon.   Rich, orangish-yellow color and very bright luster. Shows very strong water-worn appearance.  Completely natural, not etched or acid treated. Minor fine-grained silt/sand remains. Weighs  .09 oz.

Gold nugget from the Blue Mtn. placer mining area of Oregon.  Heavily water worn, bronzy-yellow color and soft velvety luster.  Completely natural, not etched or acid treated. No Quartz matrix remains. Weighs  .14 oz.

A curious Gold nugget from the Blue Mtn. mining area of Oregon.  Flattened shape, brassy-yellow color and soft velvety luster.   Completely natural, not etched or acid treated. Few % Quartz matrix remains. Weighs  .10 oz.

Interesting Gold nugget showing soft, velvety luster, and a pale Champagne color.  As found--not cleaned, shows fine sand, silt and tiny pebbles packed in the nooks and crannies of the nugget.  Interesting character. Weighs .11 oz.

A curious small nugget. Shows soft satiny luster and a brassy color.  Has approximately 5% residual Quartz matrix.  Found using a MineLab detector in the Limerick Canyon placer fields. Weighs .04 OZ.

Gold specimen from the Olinghouse Mine, NV.  Gold is crystallized into a myriad of ribbons, and leaves.  All sides show this crystallization. Brilliant luster. Color shows as orange-yellow. This piece was found in the placer areas so shows wear. Matrix appears to be Quartz and clays.  Weighs .10 Oz.

ARIZONA GOLD

Alluvial nugget found in the Aravaca Creek placer fields of Arizona. Specimen exhibits very brightly-lustered, buttery- yellow Gold shot through small fractures in the white Quartz matrix. Trace FeOxs in occasional hairline fractures. A Specific Gravity determination shows 7 Grams Gold.   Weighs .43 OZ

 Gold was discovered in the Yukon country during the Gold rush of 1896-98.  The Yukon Territory has been glaciated at least  four times yet, much of central Yukon escaped the effects of the last Pleistocene ice age. The Mayo area is located in the glaciated portion of the southern Yukon where the ice sheets scoured the area. This is a very nice specimen of Alluvial Gold from the Mayo area mining district, Canada.  This elongated piece shows brilliant luster, a bright, brassy color, and strong water wear, the reverse side shows natural surfaces.  Contains approximately 10% Quartz matrix.   Weighs .24 oz.

A MONSTER!! A large Gold nugget found in the East Range using a Goldbug2 metal detector. Gold shows a nice soft glowing luster, and exhibits an orangish tint. Contains about 10% Quartz matrix. A specific gravity determination indicates 152.5 Grams of contained Gold. Pretty rare nugget-- not many found like this one anymore. Housed in a 2" X 2" perky box. Total weight is 5.77 ounces.
