I recently blundered into a unique opportunity: authentic antique Pumpkinseed whisky flasks. These date from the mid 1880s to around 1910. They were found in Austin, Nevada. These were carried in a vest or breast pocket in bib overalls frequently. They had paper labels and held about 4 ounces. Many have air bubbles in the glass, and were probably made in 3 piece molds with a hand applied neck. They all had cork stoppers. They are starting to turn purple and will turn deeper if left in direct sunshine. They turn purple because in the day, glass makers added Potassium Permanganate to the melt to scavenge iron and clarify the glass. Ultra Violet sun rays turn the glass purple over time and exposure. These are in wonderful condition, no dings or scratches, only some faint ground hazing and some rainbow pearlized irridescence on some. I am offering these for $15.00 each, plus $5.00 shipping.
